California Man Beat Beat His Wife Because She Posted Too Many “Selfies” On Social Media

Many people are starting to believe that social media has a bad rep for being detrimental to relationships. Sadly, this notion has come to life and was taken quite literally in the lives of a California couple. According to New York Daily News, a California man beat and threatened to kill his wife last week. The reason? His wife was taking and posting too many selfies to Instagram.

Julio Benitez abused his wife at their home in Fresno, California after he demanded that his wife delete photos from Instagram. Drugs may have been involved. The unnamed victim suffered injuries to her neck, legs, eyes, and arms. Benitez also threatened to take the victim’s life.

His wife then fled with two of the three children in the household. The child was found, unharmed, with Benitez several hours after the incident. Benitez was reportedly charged with domestic violence and making criminal threats.
