In honor of Black History Month, the 2nd Black Fashion Week USA will be held February 21st through February 27th in Chicago, IL. Black Fashion Week USA events will honor and showcase the talents of designers, emerging designers and students of color from around the globe by providing a platform for scholarships, current industry education/strategies, shopping connections and a grand finale fashion show at the South Shore Cultural Center.

Africa International House USA, Inc partnership with Black Fashion America helps continue with BFWUSA’s tradition and motto of “Black Fashion Connects.” BFWUSA mission is to create additional brand exposure for all participating fashion businesses and serve as a liaison to black fashion professionals, models, designers and buyers to help stimulate the black fashion economy.

BFWUSA’s designers showcase will include international supermodel, designer and entrepreneur Yamaia, who has been featured in Project Runway’s designer Michael Costello Michael Costello Collection in Los Angeles and the Versace Miami private showing. Designer Berny Martin, who has traveled the world offering luxury classic apparel for his clients and focuses on creating sophisticated, well designed, interesting casual and business wear for men and women.  Democratic Republic of Congo designer Patricia Ghonda-Zola who hand makes crochet and sewn apparel as well as accessories for the whole family. Houston designer Tanya Ivory Mayes of the Ivory Collection who has done work for such films as King of The World, Muhammad Ali and Chicago self-taught urban wear designer Will Larkin of Larkin EST 1976 Designs in addition to many more designers.
