A 6th Grader Was Not Only Beaten But Suspended For Wearing A "Make America Great Again" Hat To School

A Sixth grader was suspended for being beaten up on a school bus for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

The attack which was both verbal and physical occurred on a St. Louis, Missouri school bus and was caught on video.

Gavin, the boy wearing the hat, was suspended even though he was the victim in the situation and his mother Christina Cortina is outraged. She is now fearful of letting him wear the hat again in the future.

“As a parent, it’s so upsetting. I feel like my son was made an example of, it was a tricky situation, it was politically charged,” said Cortina.

The boy was bullied on the bus by several students with one yelling “you want to build a wall? You want to build a f****** wall?” Then punches were thrown.

According to Gavin, “Then he kept hitting me and backing me up by the window of the bus, and so I just had to push him out.”

A spokesperson for the Parkway School District has said the fight was investigated and all of the students that were involved in the altercation have faced “consequences.”

The spokesperson also said that the school district will be having a sit down with each of the students so that they can come to a peaceful understanding about the incident as well as politics.
