Three women were apprehended and at O’ hare Airport for allegedly transporting an extremely large amount of opium through security checkpoint .
According to Customs and Border Protection officials Pa Yang 57, Mai Vue Vang, 58 and tru Thao, 52 were arriving to the U.S from Japan.
The women arrived in Chicago with at least $3 million in street value worth of drugs.
All three passengers luggage had what appeared to be tea leaves and after further testing they found brown substance in packages which tested positive for Opium, per Piccirilli.
The women appeared in court Wednesday, where a judge set bond at $50,000 for each.
