Police are looking for three men accused of attacking a woman as she washed her car Saturday night.

Police say the woman was washing her car at Jolly Wash in the 3200 block of North Watkins Road around 9 p.m.

“It’s scary to hear because I used to get my car washed at this location,” said Azizah Shaheed, who lives nearby.

However, surveillance video shows the men picked the wrong woman to try to rob.

As the 25-year-old woman cleaned her van, a man wearing a black hoodie walked up and got in the driver seat of the vehicle. Another man came up behind the woman, but she started to fight back as he attacked.

A third man, who police say seemed to have been keeping watch, ran up and tried to help his friends, but the woman fought them off. She got inside her car and drove away as the man ran in front of her.

The victim told police the men are between 17 and 25 years old.

“People robbing each other and young kids out here acting wild and stuff,” said neighbor Rodney Maclin. “It shouldn’t be like that.”

In light of what happened, some people say it’s a reminder, especially for women, to always watch your surroundings and not to travel alone at night.
