A $25,000 reward is being offered for information in the murder of a cancer patient who was attacked outside her hospital in suburban Zion.

46-year-old Shannon Vincel, of Missouri, was sitting outside her residence Monday night at Cancer Treatment Centers of America when someone hit her in the head.

She died the next day.

Police said the attacker, described as male, struck Vincel in the head, causing “severe head trauma.”

Cancer Treatment Centers of America posted the reward Thursday, and said it’ll be paid to anyone who provides critical information leading to the killer’s capture.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force, along with the Zion Police Department, is investigating this homicide.
