15- Year Old Teen Boy Killed Ex-Girlfriend In Murder Suicide Because He Couldn't Live Without Her

After two teens in Riverdale were killed in an apparent murder suicide Monday night, their families are trying to understand just what happened that led to the tragic incident.

Police say 16-year-old Samyah Copeland and 15-year-old Christopher Andrews, both Riverdale High School students, were found dead inside a home on Montego Circle Monday. Both had gunshot wounds

On Tuesday night, family and friends paid tribute to the 16-year-old at a vigil in Clayton County. 11Alive’s Neima Abdulahi was there for the somber event where the victim’s family shared their memories of her.

“Everybody that came in contact with fell in love with her,” her mother said at the vigil. “She always had a smile.”

They were at a loss for words, shocked that Andrews would shoot Copeland, then turn the gun on himself. The teen’s mother is finding it hard to believe that her little girl is gone

So far, police don’t have a motive for why Andrews pulled the trigger, but they indicated the two teens had been in a previous relationship. Family members say they remained friends.

“That was her best friend,” Copeland’s mother said. “He couldn’t live without her. And he didn’t want anybody to live with her if he couldn’t have her to himself.”

Investigators are still waiting for autopsy and toxicology results to come back to see if any other factors played a role in the shootings.
