Studio 11 Films is proud to be working with Nevada Partners Inc. a community based non profit organization in support of their commitment to sustainable community development and President Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper” Initiative by implementing a summer workshop version of The 11Eleven11 Project – filmmaker training program, in Las Vegas, NV July 14- August 1, 2014.
The 11Eleven11 Project will support the goals of the Nevada Partners and “My Brothers Keeper” by providing help to Local Las Vegas young people of color who are willing to do the hard work to get ahead. Our goal in providing hands on training in Film/TV production is to build a career ladder where in these young people are effectively trained and job ready for the opportunities before them within Nevada’s evolving film industry. This intensive training workshop series will not only increase their knowledge but challenge their tenacity, enhance the development of life long skills while producing a finished product, that will demonstrate what they’ve learned. Throughout their training, participants will be mentored by multiple industry professionals to share their experience and provide guidance and support as they discover their area of passion and embark upon a new career journey.
In an effort to bridge the career gap and provide job placement to these young people we will also work with in the community and beyond to find direct employment opportunities with production companies and studios with projects slated to be produced in the Metro-Las Vegas area. So many times our youth get looked over when the authentic talent they exemplify is looking us right in the face. We recognize that and want to fine tune it with training and providing the necessary tools and resources needed to go out and succeed. Pairing them with industry mentors also gives them a leg up exposing them to additional opportunities they may not have on their own.
Studio 11 Films is excited to give back in more than one way. As a boutique studio based in Atlanta, GA and expanding to Las Vegas,NV we realize how it feels to be a small fish in a big pond wanting to make an enormous splash. However, our belief is “many hands, light loads” and when you have a group of people come together as one group, one vision, one spirit to accomplish the same goal…Miracles can happen.
On November 11, 2011, The 11eleven11 Project was born with the goal of designing a platform for aspiring filmmakers, bringing together 11 Writers, 11 Directors, 11 Producers and 11 celebrities to create 11 short films in 11 months. The revolutionary project garnered worldwide attention and debuted on November 11, 2012 at the Bronzelens Film Festival. Not only have all 11 films recently been picked up for distribution; filmmakers that participated in the program not only received media attention but went on to start their own production companies along with receiving jobs with major studios and productions such as Tyler Perry Studios, Fast & Furious, Drumline, Think Like a Man, Ride Along etc. Hence, making this incubator program a huge success.
