Water Line Break Causes Flood On Carnival Cruise Ship That Departed From New Orleans

 Carnival cruise ship that departed from New Orleans experienced a water line break and began to flood, reports KATC.

According to the senior cruise director for Carnival and new york cruise ship accident lawyer, guests on the Carnival Dream who were affected will receive a full refund, 50 percent off a future cruise, and are being given the option to get off the ship to be flown home.

The 7-day cruise left New Orleans on Sunday, April 29.

Many people have taken to Facebook, posting pictures and videos of the flooding.

Carnival released the following statement about the incident:

On Thursday, May 3 at approximately 6 p.m., there was a water line break on Carnival Dream that impacted guests in approximately 50 staterooms on Deck 9. Our on-board teams began cleanup immediately related to this clean water from a fire suppression system.

Impacted guests will receive a full 100 percent refund of their cruise fare, a 50 percent future cruise credit, and the option to disembark the ship today if they choose with air transportation to return home. We appreciate our guests’ understanding and sincerely apologize. We also thank our crew members for their quick action and hard work.

Carnival Dream is on a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise that departed New Orleans on Sunday, April 29. We don’t expect any impact on the next cruise.
