A Spanaway, Washington mother of three was charged and jailed on Monday, under accusations that she gave her three small children heroin to get them to sleep.

Child Protective Services (CPS) removed the children of Ashlee Hutt, 24— a 6-year-old boy, a 4-year-old girl and a 2-year-old girl, from Hutt and her boyfriend Mac McIver’s home on Nov.15, 2015 because there was heroin in the house, as well as needles and rat droppings, The News Tribune reported.

The CPS employees noticed signs of heroin injection— marks, bruising, cuts— on the younger girl’s body. A month later, the son was interviewed and described being choked by McIver, 25, then injected with “feel-good medicine,” a mixture of white powder and water injected with a needle. The substance was also used on his sisters and the children usually fell asleep after, The News Tribune reported.

The parents admitted to having heroin addictions and on Monday Hutt was charged with three counts each of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance to a minor, second-degree criminal mistreatment and second-degree child assault. The Court Commissioner set her bail at $100,000. McIver was arraigned on the same charges on Sept. 7 and his bail is $100,000.
