An arrest has been made in connection with the death’s of Israel Ahimbisibwe, his wife, Dorcus, and their five-year-old son, Jay.
The couple’s son, Isaac Tiharihondi, 19, was charged with two counts of capital murder Wednesday afternoon. Tiharihondi was arrested without incident in Mississippi.
According to an earlier report from Houston’s ABC 13, police say the family was killed with a hammer, baseball bat, lamp and kitchen knife.
A Houston police investigator said in an affidavit that Tiharihondi told family and friends that he had enlisted in the Marines and had planned on leaving at the end of January.
His parents, however, did not believe his story and made plans to confront him about it.
According to the Houston Police Department, representatives of the U.S. Marine Corp said they do not have any record of Tiharihondi enlisting.
Police believe the family was killed on Thursday, Jan. 29, four days before the bodies were found, presumably on the same day as the confrontation.
Tiharihoni is currently being held in Hinds County Jail in Raymond, Mississippi until he can be transported back to Houston.
