Pregnant Teens Dies After Shot In The Head But Baby Survives

(OAK LAWN, Ill.) (WLS) — Police say a pregnant teen in south suburban Dolton was shot in the head before being taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she died.

Seventeen-year-old Eva Casara was found Wednesday night in Dolton.

She was apparently found by a resident on Christmas Eve, was brought to another hospital and eventually ended up at Christ Medical Center. She did not survive, but her baby did.

We’re very sad,” said Dolton Police Chief John Franklin. “Of course our condolences and our prayers go out to the family. There’s no day that’s a good day to lose a child. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through. On Christmas day to have that happen, it’s horrible.”
