Parents paid good money to take their children to a Miley Cyrus concert and got way more than they bargained for. Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz Tour has been getting some serious attention. Sexual innuendos, a bodysuit advocating drug use, gyrating on top of cars…you name it Miley has probably did it on stage. Call me a prude if you like however Miley’s behavior while entertaining for some and a shocker for others warrants some looking into. Granted the theatrics Miley is doing is nothing short of what Cyndi Lauper & Madonna did in their hey day. The difference is they knew when the outcry of the parents sounded louder than they did somethings they would not do in their shows or videos.
It seems like Miley is not grasping the fact that she has taken the wrong road to prove her independence and “adulthood” to the world. She is walking that fine line between freedom and self-destruction and in the music industry while one may give you power the other is surely to bring you down. Hmmpf…that is the price a celebrity pays for “freedom”!! See the story below:
Parents want Miley Cyrus’ tour canceled
Parents have buried Miley Cyrus’ managers in complaints about her “Bangerz” tour, saying the 21-year-old’s onstage antics are too racy for children in the audience, according to MusicFix.
They should be more concerned about their kids’ taste in music.
Cyrus has made headlines on this tour for pretty much basing her show on one of Charlie Sheen’s daydreams. She has reportedly straddled a flying hot dog, stuffed a thong in her mouth, simulated oral sex on someone wearing a Bill Clinton mask, and licked everything in site.
MusicFix said many parents have responded to the show’s reviews by trying to sell their tickets on eBay and StubHub, while others are demanding refunds and refusing to attend. One parent reportedly contacted record executives at her label, Interscope, saying their family left a show because they didn’t want their 9-year-old to witness a “porn show.”
I can sympathize but, on the other hand, how did these people miss the MTV Awards? Robin Thicke almost impregnated her.
“Miley’s management have been flooded with complaints, mainly from parents, since her tour began last week in Canada with calls for the entire tour to be axed,” a source told MusicFix.
Yeah … that’s going to happen, right after label CEOs order their accountants to start burning all their money.
But there is enough concern that the tour’s management team has been called to an emergency meeting to strategize after learning that several arenas are considering dropping her act, the Huffington Post reported.
Cyrus is scheduled to play Oracle Arena in Oakland on Monday and SAP arena in San Jose on Tuesday.
What parent in their right mind would pay good money for their child to see the following images on stage:
Miley Cyrus Bangerz Tour Peformance
I don’t know what it is about the entertainment industry today that makes celebrities think it is alright to portray inmates to the public that are clearly meant for private and should not be performed on stage. Personally it was not acceptable when back in yesteryear and it is not acceptable now. I am not in disagreement that parents should take an active concern in what their children are listening to but that does not let the artist off the hook either. I believe that people including celebrities have the right to do what they please but when that independence wreaks havoc on the general public then it is time to take a stand. Most musical artist make their money from their fans supporting their craft and in this horrible economic state maybe its time for the public to consider spending their dollars wisely!!
