Missouri’s Lieutenant Governor Seeking To Arrest Michael Brown’s StepFather For Inciting A Riot

Michael Brown’s stepfather is the one who should be indicted — for inciting a riot by telling Ferguson’s mobs to “burn this bitch down” after the grand jury announcement, Missouri’s lieutenant governor said in an explosive radio interview Wednesday.

“When you hear that soundbite from the stepfather of Michael Brown, what’s your reaction?” radio talk show host Laura Ingraham asked Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder after playing him an audio clip of the raging stepfather.

“Burn the bitch mother-f—er down! Burn the bitch down! Burn the bitch!” the stepfather screams in the clip.

“This is the lovely stepfather of Michael Brown,” Ingraham told Kinder in the interview. “Was this where Michael Brown was getting his inspiration? From this guy?”

When Ingraham then asked Kinder — one of the few Republicans holding statewide office in Missouri — “What’s your reaction?,” the lieutenant governor answered quickly.

“That he should be arrested and charged with inciting to riot.”

“Why hasn’t that already happened?” Ingraham agreed.

The host and guest then went on to riff, sarcastically, on how rioting protesters demonstrated their dedication to the highest principles of the civil rights movement — by looting liquor, clothing and appliance stores.

“Nothing quite says civil rights outrage like a fifth of Jack Daniels,” Ingraham quipped. “That really speaks to the great legacy of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King.”

“Or a new plasma [TV],” Kinder agreed.

The Brown family’s lawyer has defended the family’s response, saying, “Don’t condemn them for being human. They want people to behave in a responsible, peaceful manner.”

Kinder has been outspoken in opposing the state’s Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon on the riots, on Tuesday telling Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum that the governor kept the National Guard away as Ferguson burned, and suggesting that Nixon did so in consultation with the Obama administration.
