A 26-year-old man was stabbed as he exited the CTA Red Line train early Sunday morning in the Lakeview neighborhood on the North Side, police said.
About 3:35 a.m., a male attacker stabbed the man after pepper spraying him as he was exiting the CTA train at the Belmont stop in the 900 block of West Belmont Avenue, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago police spokesman.
The man was stabbed in the abdomen, and he was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, Alfaro said.
The offender was described as a 5-foot-7 black man, weighing about 150 pounds, with long strawberry blond hair and leopard-print pants.
No one was immediately in custody as a result of the stabbing, and no other information was available.
