A man has been jailed for just three years after he raped a young girl in the stairwell of a Toys R Us car park.
Connor Hiscocks was caught abusing the child on CCTV last year, beside the toy store in Plymouth.
The 22-year-old – who cried as he was handed his sentence – was told that the victim was ‘deeply damaged’.
He pleaded guilty to one count of causing of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and two counts of sexual activity with a child under the age of 16.
Sentencing Hiscocks, Judge Ian Lawrie, told the defendant his victim was ‘an extremely vulnerable young lady’.
He added despite the fact he was a man of previous good character ‘your selfishness is of a truly staggering scale.’
Judge Lawrie told Hiscocks the girl was ‘deeply damaged before you met her’ but ‘you have contributed to that damage’.
Hiscocks, of Plymouth, Devon, was jailed for three years and four months at the city’s crown court.
He will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
