Man arrested after dropping his wallet allegedly burglarizing Dallas officer's home

A suspected burglar accused of taking a Dallas police officer’s duty belt, pistol magazines, gun and pepper spray was captured after his wallet fell out of his pocket as he fled the scene, according to police records.

Adrian Jimmerson, 18, is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a charge of burglary of a habitation. Bail has been set at $10,000.

According to police records, Jimmerson broke into Dallas police Officer Salvador Castro’s apartment on Marvin D Love Freeway, located south of Interstate 20, on the afternoon of Feb. 13.

An apartment complex employee told police that he chased the suspected burglar after seeing him walk away from an apartment carrying a pillow case with “unknown items inside.” A witness tried to help the employee stop the man as he tried to climb a fence, the records state.

The man dropped the pillow case containing the stolen property.  The man’s pants ripped as he climbed the fence and ran away. Left behind was a wallet and school identification which led police to Jimmerson, according to police documents.  Jimmerson was arrested Feb. 14.
