Low Ticket Sales May Be The Cause For Kandi Burruss’ Cancelled Project “A Mother’s Love”

It’s a sad, sad day for Kandi Burruss that not even a whole lotta love could save.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was forced to cancel the national tour of her musical, A Mother’s Love, less than two weeks after it began. A “heartbroken” Kandi broke the news to her fans and followers in a lengthy Instagram post from earlier today, September 18, which reflects just how upset she is.

The post, which reads like a letter to Kandi’s thousands of fans, seemingly begins with the reason for the tour’s cancellation. Though Kandi doesn’t say it outright, from what we can glean the tour was canceled because of unsatisfactory ticket sales. The RHoA star explains,

“I licensed A Mother’s Love to a promoter with high expectations of finally seeing my creation go on the road and I am very saddened and frustrated by the cancellation of the tour.”

Though she’s clearly upset on her own behalf, Kandi made it clear that she feels most badly for the show’s cast and dedicated fans. She continues, “More than that my heart goes out to the cast who all are AMAZINGLY talented. We really worked hard to put together an awesome show. It breaks my heart that we won’t be able to put on this show for my fans who have bought tickets, & who all were looking forward to seeing it.”

Kandi also made it clear that, if it was up to her, the show would most definitely go on.

“I stand with [the fans] in disbelief and despair that this has happened and was caught off guard as well,” she declares. “I hope you understand that the cancellation was beyond my control.”

The newlywed also understands that fans (especially those who have already purchased tickets) may be disappointed and even angry, but she hopes they won’t hold it against her. Although she couldn’t say for sure, Kandi notes that she’s fairly certain refunds will be issued to people who purchased tickets for shows from today and beyond, seeing as the tour was initially supposed to conclude on December 14 in New York City.

Based on the comments from some of her fans so far, it doesn’t seem like anyone is blaming Kandi for the show’s failure. Instead, they too seem genuinely sad that A Mother’s Love won’t continue.

Since RHoA is still currently filming, we’re betting the end of AML will be chronicled in Season 7. While it will be tough to watch, we know Kandi will bounce back in no time! Are you sad the A Mother’s Love tour was canceled? Tell us how you feel below.
