EarHustle411 and the writing staff are extremely excited and proud when history is made with people we have had the distinct pleasure of covering.  MC Lyte has reached another plateau in her career as well as on her journey to changing lives with an invite to perform at the White House for the 50th Anniversary of the National Endowment of the Arts celebration.

MC Lyte made history being the first female MC to ever perform at the White House. Her role as founder of the Hip Hop Sisters Foundation along with CEO/Co-Founder, Lynn Richardson and the newly appointed Executive Director, Latoyia Dennis has been blessing young people with the opportunity to further their education with scholarships totaling over $500,000.

The foundation as recent as October 15, 2015 was featured on The Steve Harvey Show awarding a young man a $50,000 scholarship to Dillard University through the #EducateOurMen initiative.  The episode is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2015 (Check your local listings for channel and time).  This initiative upon its inception immediately began making headway and moves to ensure that our young men are afforded the opportunities to better themselves through education. The call has been put out for us to give back, reach back and encourage our youth especially the young men.  It is our duty to see to it that the future of our youth is secure.  MC Lyte and her carefully chosen team of people are making sure of that one youth at a time.

In addition to MC Lyte, Hip Hop Sisters making history, a humble young man from Chicago was also along for the ride on the “road to the White House” Jermaine “DJ Jermaine” Russell, MC Lyte’s official DJ who is also signed to MC Lyte’s Music Group made some history of his own by providing music at the White House during the few days #TeamMCLyte was in attendance.
