All EarHustle411 can do about the following post is shake our heads.  We understand that private schools have the right to refuse any one from attending their school, however just like they are an educational facility that services the community for a price.  So why would this school not be subject to the same federal punishment that the bakery was subjected to when they did not make the cake for the same-sex couple. They had “religious” beliefs as did the Kentucky County Clerk and so on and so forth.

The child was discriminated against because of her parent’s sexual orientation and last time I check it was illegal to discriminate against anyone based on their sexual reference.  Mt. Erie Christian Academy may need to implement a “do over” because they messed up.

A five-year-old girl was not able to attend her San Diego elementary school — not because she had done anything wrong, but because her parents are lesbians.

According to KGTV, the young girl had attended school at Mt. Erie Christian Academy for preschool and summer classes, but a few days before kindergarten would have started for her, she was told she could not attend. The reason, her parents said, was that the school did not want to have anything to do with homosexuality.

“They told us, ‘oh this is not about your child,’ but it is about my child,” Sheena, one of the girl’s mothers, told KGTV. Sheena stays at home with her daughter while her wife, Lashaune, has been away because she has been deployed by the Navy.

Sheena and Lashaune were summoned to the school to meet with the pastor, who prayed with them and then broke the news that their daughter could not attend.

“It was heartbreaking,” Sheena said. “I didn’t finish the conversation with them when they took us in the room because I just, I didn’t want to look at them any longer. I just couldn’t believe that they did that.”

The mothers are currently looking for a civil rights attorney to sue the school, however San Diego attorney Eugene Iredale said that the school had the right to refuse their daughter entry.
