CLEVELAND, Ohio –Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver Josh Gordon has been arrested on a charge of driving while impaired in Raleigh, North Carolina.

According to the Raleigh/Wake City-County Bureau of Identification’s website, the charge was filed against Gordon, 23, on Saturday.

According to Jim Sughrue, spokesperson for the Raleigh Police Department, Gordon was originally pulled over just after 3 a.m. for driving 50 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone.

According to Gordon’s citation, when a breathalyzer test was administered, his blood alcohol content level registered at .09, which is .01 over the legal driving limit.

Gordon was taken to the Wake County Detention Center, where he was bonded out.

Sources say Gordon will appear in court on Aug. 26.

Browns General Manager Ray Farmer released the following statement about the matter:

“We are aware of the matter and are disappointed to learn of this situation. We will comment further at the appropriate time.”
