WILMETTE, Ill. — Bond was set at $150,000 for a personal trainer accused of knowingly transmitting HIV to three women he dated.
Cook County prosecutors say 46-year-old Jimmy Amutavi of Wilmette repeatedly had unprotected sex with the women in the last year and a half.
When confronted he denied having the virus despite being diagnosed as early as December 2001.
Amutavi is charged with three counts of criminal transmission of HIV, a Class 2 felony.
If convicted, he faces 3 to 7 years in prison for each count.
