Famous tattoo artist and body piercer Michael “Trigz” Pebley was shot to death during a fight in North Hollywood on Thursday night, authorities said.

Witnesses told reporters that Pebley, 40, was inside a tattoo parlor in the 6300 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard when the confrontation began. Police said an argument between Pebley and another man inside the business — Tattoo & Body Piercing — turned physical at about 5:50 p.m. The fight spilled outside onto the sidewalk.

“The suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim,” said LAPD Officer Drake Madison.

Pebley was pronounced dead at the scene and the gunman ran off and has not been caught. The reason the men were fighting is under investigation, police said.

Hours after the shooting, mourners created a makeshift memorial for Pebley outside the tattoo shop.

Desirae Howell was among the site’s visitors. She told NBC4 she met him at his Pacoima business, Sin City Tattoo shop.

“He was a really good guy,” Howell told the station.  “He was a family guy. He was very intelligent.”

According to his Model Mayhem profile, Pebley was a father of five born and raised in Los Angeles. He describes himself as a model, photographer and artist who owns his own clothing line. He’s worked with famous rap musicians including Mobb Deep, Lil’ Jon and Wiz Khalifa.

By Friday morning, a GoFund me account to help pay for the cost of Pebley’s funeral had been set up and had more than 25 donations.

Pebley’s friends and fans left messages grieving his death.

“RIP to a great artist, nicest guy, and a great family man!!!! Just shocked and sadden [sic] by such tragic news!” one message read.

Pebley’s death marks the third North Hollywood homicide in the last year, according to the Homicide Report database.
