February 11, 2014 (CHICAGO) (WLS) — Surveillance video shows an off-duty sheriff’s officer shooting a robbery suspect in Chicago. Now, police say they are searching for the other two suspects who escaped during the robbery attempt.
An off-duty sheriff’s officer shot and killed one of the suspects in the 700-block of East 103rd Street in the Pullman neighborhood.
According to police, the men tried to rob the officer Monday night at a gas station.
Authorities say the suspects demanded the officer’s wallet as he was pumping gas. He reportedly gave it to them, then one of the men pulled out a handgun and aimed it at the officer, police said.
The officer then pulled out his own gun and shot one of them in the head, killing him.
