Dolphins force Don Jones to sensitivity training for not liking Michael Sam’s gay kiss

Dolphins force Don Jones to sensitivity training for not liking Michael Sam's gay kiss

I thought this might be a problem. When the St. Louis Rams made the decision on Saturday to draft Michael Sam in the seventh round of the NFL draft, they acquired much more than an All-American defensive lineman who may or may not be a decent pro prospect. They became hosts to a cultural and political cause, and we’re already seeing how this is going to manifest in the NFL.

Cue the media, which couldn’t tell us enough how wonderful it was that the openly homosexual Sam – upon hearing the news he was drafted – laid a smooch on his boyfriend on live TV. Look, everyone! See two men kissing each other! How wonderful!

And it was only a matter of time until someone who thought it was actually kind of cringe-inducing said so publicly, and that someone turned out to be Miami Dolphins safety Don Jones. He tweeted the following succinct commentary: “omg . . . horrible”

Please note: That is not allowed.

The rules are simple. People who wish to engage in PHDA (public homosexual displays of affection) will do so as openly as they like. The media will show these PHDAs to us repeatedly and at every opportunity. You are to watch. You have a choice between expressing your glee or saying nothing. However, if you are asked what you think, you must say it is wonderful. This is mandatory.

Don Jones did not follow the rules, so it is time for him to have his mind rewired by the Ministry of Correctness:

The Miami Dolphins swiftly and publicly reprimanded Don Jones late Sunday for his Twitter remarks critical of Michael Sam, fining him and barring him from team activities until he undergoes sensitivity training.

In a statement released by the team, Jones apologized for tweeting “omg” and “horrible” after seeing Sam sharing a celebratory kiss with his partner on national TV Saturday evening. Sam had just been drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round, becoming the first openly gay player selected by an NFL team.

“I want to apologize to Michael Sam for the inappropriate comments that I made last night on social media,” said Jones, a backup defensive back. “I take full responsibility for them, and I regret that these tweets took away from his draft moment.”

Expect plenty more of this, along with plenty of talk that Sam is “courageous” for being open about his homosexuality. I suppose you have to say he has some guts for not hiding what he does, but that goes only so far. How much courage does it really take to do your thing when the forces of cultural correctness are ready to enforce cultural correctness – including fines, suspensions and sensitivity training – against anyone who has a negative reaction to you?

What the culture is trying to do to Don Jones – now with the full buy-in of the NFL – is to force a reprogramming of people’s natural reaction to things. It insists on showing us pictures of two men kissing, and when we don’t react to that positively, saying to us: You ignoramuses! You don’t mind when NFL draftees kiss their girlfriends! This is no different!

And they dare us to say that it is different, and attack us as backwards Neanderthals if we do.

But it is different. For one thing, many of us (and I am one) refuse to ignore 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 or Romans 1:27. The one is not just as good as the other because God’s Word says it isn’t. If you have a problem with that point of view, take it up with God. Don’t talk to me.

And because this comes from God, so too does the natural inclination of the human being to look at two men kissing and say, “Ewwww!” Many people don’t want to see it. That’s why we chose not to show the kiss in the photo above. I can’t rail against the media for shoving that image in our faces and then shove it in your face.

The culture that is in fullscale rebellion against God attacks this natural inclination, but it is still there. I don’t think it was particularly wise for Don Jones to tweet what he did, but why do the gay-is-wonderful people have the right to put any image and any message they want in front of us, while no one has the right to give their honest reaction to it?

What the Dolphins did to Don Jones is the latest triumph of fascism. It is the controlling of people’s thoughts and their expressions thereof. It matters not at all that the government is not the official perpetrator of this control. The source is a political movement, and it happens to be the very political movement that supports the people in power in this country at the moment.

But more to the point, the culture is demanding that people reject the Word of God on the matter of homosexuality, or pay the price.

You have to wonder if the Rams are going to regret drafting Michael Sam, seeing now all the nonsense that is going to accompany him

and it’s starting already. My guess is that, as a seventh-round draft pick, a guy who comes with this big a media and cultural circus attached to him is going to have to be one fantastic player to make the team. Unless the Rams would rather be a cultural cause than a football team. Because from the way they performed last year, they really need to work on the latter.

I’ll leave you with this question: How come they can show pictures of two dudes kissing, and we’re not allowed to have any negative reaction whatsoever . . . but when we show pictures of aborted fetusus, they go ballistic? Hmm?
