Deadly Car Crash Kills 6 After Hitting Tree

Six people died after a car crashed into a tree Sunday evening in southeast Oak Cliff.

Dallas police said the Chevy Impala was going south on Bonnie View Road near Persimmon Road at around 9:30 p.m. when a back wheel hit a curb. The driver lost control, went onto the median, and hit a tree.

Four people died at the scene. Two others were taken to local hospitals and pronounced dead.

Family and friends at the scene told FOX 4 the driver was a 20-year-old Jonathan Lang. They said two of the victims were sisters — 21-year-old Quatia Irving and 23-year-old Keneesha Bradford.

Three Kimball High School football players were also killed. Friends identified them as 15-year-olds Kentron Haskins and Trey Woodberry and 16-year-old Cedric Johnson.

Teammates are grieving with the loss. The reality set in at a team meeting Monday, as a coach comforted the young men. “People that always made us laugh and smile and brighten up our day we aren’t going to have that anymore,” said Darius Morgan.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash. A witness said she saw the car going at least 100 mph.
