Cop Who Killed 12-Year Old Tamir Rice Fired For Not Disclosing He Was Labled UnFit To Be A Cop At Previous Job

The rookie police officer who fatally shot 12-year-old Tamir Rice at a Cleveland, Ohio rec center in 2014 has been fired — but not for Rice’s slaying.

According to ABC News, officer Timothy Loehmann was let go Tuesday morning for “inaccurate details on his job application and other administrative policies violations, including failure to disclose information about how his time at the Independence Police Department ended.

“Loehmann was allowed to resign from the Independence department after six months following a series of incidents where supervisors determined he was unfit to be a police officer

According to a disciplinary letter, a note in Loehmann’s personnel file from IPD says he was emotionally immature and had “an inability to emotionally function.” He also broke down at a local gun range, the letter notes.

Loehmann shot Rice less than three seconds after arriving at the Cudell Recreation Center on November 22, 2014. He had been a Cleveland police officer for less than eight months, as Cleveland.com noted, and was still on his probationary period.
