The Chosen Few Music Festival Packed The Park With Thousands Of Positive Spirits

Spirits were high and the weather was just right this weekend as what seemed like everybody in Chicago has descended upon Jackson Park to partake in food, family and fun at the 2016 Chosen Few DJ Picnic now dubbed the Chosen Few DJs Music Festival.  Team EarHustle411 had the privilege of covering this year’s event in its new format of 2 days of non-stop music, with the original concept of grillin’, chillin’ and groovin’ to the sounds of nothing but house, house and more house music and on day 2 was a little bit more laid back with the sounds of Gospel House, R&B and Classic Steppers tunes.

The line up on Saturday was nothing short of fantastic as guest DJs Tony T warmed up the early morning attendees then Dee Jay Alicia who was the lone female mixologist for the day came out and did the darn thing.  DJA fans were in the building supporting this talented powerhouse as she fulfilled her dream to play on the Chosen Few DJs stage. Although the world is concerned about “Brexit” but that didn’t matter at the Festival because London’s finest DJs Bobby and Steve traveled to Chicago to share their love for House music. Joe Claussell graced the decks and took everyone to a different time and space, and gained some new fans in the process.

We wished we could be on the room when the Chosen Few DJs discuss the performers for the festival because they always come through with the best there is that represent the pure essence of House.  Monique Bingham and Josh Milan performed on Day 1 but on day 2 the househeads were greeted with the sounds of DJ Big Al and Stevie B and the stage was graced by one of the best ladies to ever do it in this music biz Ms. Cheryl Lynn. She took us back to the days real R&B, her chart topping hits Got To Be Real and If This World Were Mine brought back some fabulous memories.  Cheryl got the crowd to Shake It Up Tonight and showed us how to party right.

Guest DJ Mark Fulla Flava kept the crowd grooving between performances and then One Way featuring Al Hudson who filled for Roy Ayers after he suddenly took ill.  This fan favorite R&B group ripped the Chosen Few Festival apart, we got in the groove with Cutie Pie, Push, Push Push and had a quick love session with Guess You Didn’t Know and Toast To The Other Man.   One Way has not skipped a beat in all these years.

You never know who will show up at the CFF, Empire’s Taraji P. Henson came through and got her “jack on” she addressed the crowd, wished them a safe and Happy 4th, Chicago comedian and Radio Personality Leon Rogers just has to show his face and love for his city!! What can we say about that Prince tribute with New York’s DJ Spinna…OMG!!! He killed it and having NPG Dancer Cat Glover in the house made it all the better!!
