Chicago Student Turned Away From School For Not Being In Proper Uniform Is Killed On The Way Home

Chicago, IL-  An 18-year old student from Excel Academy of South Shore High School who was sent home for not properly being dressed in school uniform, was randomly shot and killed while he and a friend  along with his friends mother walked home.

The teen that was shot happened to get hit by a stray bullet during a drive-by shooting on Wednesday morning. His friends mother tried saving the boy to no avail.

There has been over 500 murders in Chicago since the beginning of January and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

Liz Doss says the boys were sent home because they forgot to wear their bow ties which is a part of the school uniform.  They were only a couple of block from the school by 75th and colfax when a black car pulled up and began shooting.

She said they all took off running and when the shots ceased, her son’s friend was shot in his stomach.  She tried relentlessly to apply pressure to his wound even taking off her shirt and trying to stop the bleeding.  Doss is heartbroken because she feels she failed at saving the young mans life.

The young man has no gang affiliation and police are unclear who the intended target was.  After being rushed to Northwestern Hospital the young man succumbed to his injury.

Police are investigating and once again, No one in custody.
