Breaking News: 3 Shot In Drive-By In South Chicago Area

Three men were taken to hospitals in serious to critical condition following a drive-by shooting this afternoon on the South Side.

About 3 p.m. the men were standing outside in front of a residence in the 8600 block of South Colfax Avenue when a small blue car passed and someone inside it fired shots hitting the men, police said.

The blue car fled the scene after the attack, in the city’s South Chicago neighborhood.

A Chicago Fire Department official said all three men were listed in serious to critical condition.

A 27-year-old man was shot in the leg and arm and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn while a 32-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the extremities and he was also taken to Christ, the official said.

A 33-year-old man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, said the official, who did not immediately have details.

Police said one victim was shot in the side and two others were wounded in the legs, police said.

At 7:23 p.m. a 33-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting on the 4100 block of Jackson Boulevard in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney.

The man was shot in the back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Sweeney said.

No arrests have been made.
