Bishop T.D. Jakes Responds To Deitrick Haddon’s “Keep It Real With No Filter” Challenge

Leave it to Deitrick Haddon of Oxygen network’s “Preachers of L.A.” to bring the controversy with his “keeping it real with no filter” approach. As an outspoken member of the cast, Deitrick’s transparency leads to much criticism amongst fellow pastors and churchgoers.

However in a recent interview with HipHollywood.com, Deitrick defends the show and his fellow cast members, putting the heat on other pastors who he feels are hiding behind the cloth.

“If you are a real person, if you are bringing it for real, you shouldn’t be afraid of this show. Open up your doors, Bishop Jakes! Open up your doors, Creflo Dollar. Open up your doors, Bishop Morton!” Deitrick challenged popular pastors.

He explained why he feels more pastors need to be more open and transparent, a topic he is very passionate about.

“[The people] have the right to know the real you. I’m not saying you are going to get two worlds because it should be consistent with what you are preaching about, but I think the issue here has been [pastors feel] we’re not supposed to show people our humanity; we’re just supposed to show people Jesus,” Deitrick reasoned.

Not to be outdone, nor put in the midst of drama, mega pastor Bishop T.D. Jakes pretty much dismissed Deitrick’s suggestion when asked about the “Fix My Choir” mentor’s challenge.

“I’m a little bit busy; I’m doing movies; I’m doing television; I’ve done talk shows. I’ve pastored to 30,000 people. I think my plate is full,” the T.D. said with a smile.
