An Musical Icon Comes To Chicago; MC Lyte Greets Her Fans With Her Latest Album #Legend

This past weekend was truly an epic weekend for one MC Lyte.  Hip Hop’s Queen descended upon Chicago for a series of events with the release of her latest album (Yes, it is an actual album) LEGEND.  The weekend started off on Saturday, April 18, 2015 with MC Lyte’s release party at Bar Louie in Matteson, IL in conjunction with Soul 106.3FM and their 80’s/90’s Event with On-Air Personality Teefa from The Basement.  Everyone came “funky fresh dress to impress ready to party” in their flyest Adidas gear.  MC Lyte Music Group’s DJ Jermaine was donned in his hip hop best paying tribute to another legend the late Jam Master Jay.   A classic hip hop vibe was certainly in the air as everyone was having a grand time while they waited for the guest of honor to arrive.

MC Lyte made her way into the venue and graced the 1s & 2s, all the while giving the crowd a sneak peek of the album.  The crowd was very receptive of the Legend project and all were equally excited to see her back doing her thing.

Sunday, April 19, 2015, MC Lyte gave fans at The Promontory in Hyde Park an opportunity to get up close and personal with her and have a more intimate listening session of the album.  There was so much love and excitement for her and the guests were ecstatic about the new album.  On the album there’s something for everyone’s mood from the track “Ball” featuring Lil Mama and AV to “Cravin” featuring Stan Carrizosa to the ladies anthem “Last Time” featuring Faith Evans and SWV’s Coko.

EarHustle411’s pick is “Check” because it is reminiscent of classic the MC Lyte we know and love.  That track is a strong reminder for those who thought she was down for the count…well guess what she put those thoughts to rest and “Checked” folks in the process.

Before closing out the event at The Promontory, MC Lyte gave the fans what they had been “Cravin” for.  She performed a few of her back in the day classics and show the crowd that she still has it going on and why she’s considered a LEGEND.

Check out this short video clip:

MC Lyte in our opinion has surpassed legendary status, artists are still trying to catch up with her but we know Lyte she will not let that happen.  However, on another note if you missed grabbing a vinyl collector’s copy of LEGEND, one can only hope that the blessings of God smile down upon you for your procrastination and it be made available again, but if not…to say you “missed out” would be an understatement!!

EarHustle411 can hardly wait to see what else this amazing woman is going to do next.   Congratulations to MC Lyte on another successful project, we wish her all the best and pray that God keeps on using her.
