People around the world are now raising money for an Arizona woman who left her children in her car during a job interview.
A passerby called police to rescue the crying 6-month-old and 2-year-old children in a locked Dodge Durango parked in the sun.
Shanesha Taylor, 35, was arrested and faces felony child abuse charges. Her mugshot, which shows tears streaming down her face, has gone viral.
Taylor allegedly told officers that the children were in the car while she was at a job interview, and that she didn’t have anyone to watch them. They are homeless, and needed the job.
While some people have expressed outraged that Taylor left her in children in the car, others are sympathizing with her situation.
In fact, an online fundraising site is collecting money to help Taylor. It was created by a woman in New Jersey who saw Taylor’s photo on the news.
The goal was $9,000, but that has been passed. As of 12 p.m. central time Wednesday, more than $80,000 had been collected.
