Ohio State Emergency Management sent a Buckeye Alert of an active shooter on the campus.
The alert stated the active shooter situation occurred near Watts Hall located on 19th Avenue and College Road North.
Columbus Fire confirmed eight people were injured and transported to local hospitals, seven in stable, and one in critical condition.
Columbus Police says one suspect was killed.
Columbus Police are asking people to avoid the area. Ohio State Police are asking students to continue to take shelter.
Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College. No other details are immediately available.
