Guess this girl learned the hard way to keep her hands to herself! But…really!!! Was it that serious to go so far as to arrest her?
According to ABC 7, a 12-year-old girl is now facing a battery charge after pinching a boy’s butt! Breana Evans was arrested on Tuesday (March 22) and booked into juvenile detention after the incident, which took place at her school near Orlando, Florida.
Officials say that the pinching happened earlier in March, but at the time the boy involved told the school resource deputy he didn’t want to press charges. Breana was simply suspended, but later the boy’s mother called wanting to prosecute, and Breana was charged with battery.
The student explained that it was a “game” that students play at the school a lot. “It is just a joke,” the young girl said. “I feel like it’s just stupid, just a stupid charge that shouldn’t have to happen.” Breana’s father, Ray Evans, agrees, believing that the charges were an overreaction. “Lord what has this world come to? Kids can’t even be a kid,” he said.
According to the Seminole County state attorney, Breana can get the charge dismissed and expunged from her record by completing a diversion program, which would include community service and passing drug tests.
